Induction Lighting

The main benefit of Induction lighting is that it uses much less energy without deterioration in light output; in fact the quality of light is normally greatly improved.  Most of our projects save at least 50% with a 2 to 3 year payback.

Similar to fluorescent lights, induction lighting uses gasses which once ‘excited’ reacts with the phosphor coating the tubes thereby producing white light.  Unlike fluorescent tubes it doesn’t use electrodes but instead transmits energy by way of magnetic field (principle of induction).

Induction lighting has a very long expected lamp life of around 100,000 hours (~75,000 hours @ 90% efficiency, 60,000 hours >70% efficiency) as it doesn’t have the electrodes or filaments that frequently cause other lamps to burn out quickly.

Induction lights are ideal for use in;

  • high, inaccessible areas (e.g. warehouses) or continuous operation areas (e.g. manufacturing) because the lamps don’t have to be changed so often.
  • car parks and areas susceptible to wind because they handle vibration much better as they have no electrodes.
  • inspection bays, printing presses etc.., because they give good light output and excellent colour rendering index (CRI).

Other benefits are their ‘instant on’ and ‘hot strike’ capabilities which means they can be used with sensors if required.

Our standard range includes;

External Induction Lighting

For use in Car Parks, Street and Pathways etc...

Internal Induction Lighting

For use in Warehouses, Sports Halls, Retail, Manufacturing, Industrial etc...

In some cases induction lamps and ballasts can be retro-fitted by our engineers into existing housings thereby making their application even more cost effective and environmentally friendly – please contact us or call on +44 (0) 1962 600 136 for advice.
